Hubei Province, referred to as Chu and Jingchu for short, is a provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC), with Wuhan as its capital. It is located in the middle of China, bordering Anhui in the east, Chongqing in the west, Shaanxi in the northwest, Jiangxi and Hunan in the south and Henan in the north. It is 740 kilometers long from east to west and 470 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of185,900 square kilometers.
