Rural Construction in Maotian Town

The construction of new countryside has always been the focus of Maotian Town. According to the requirements of "production development, affluent life, civilized rural customs, clean village appearance and democratic management", Maotian's new rural construction has achieved remarkable results.

(1) Infrastructure has been continuously improved. In 2006, Maotian Town completed township road hardening15km and gravel road reconstruction17km; Gutang, Shanshan, Shiyuan, Yanzhu and Shi Xue have completed village road hardening12km with a total investment of 8 million yuan. In addition, nearly 20 kilometers of subgrade construction has been completed in Changqing, Fenshui, Dapo, Zhoutang, Quanxin and Shu Lang villages, and comprehensive hardening is planned in 2007. The achievements in water conservancy construction are also obvious to all: in the past two years, Maotian Town has invested nearly 6 million yuan, comprehensively strengthened the seepage control of Shenghushan Reservoir, Rowing Pond Reservoir, Yaotang Reservoir and more than 50 dashantang, and built the water conservancy infrastructure of Ceng Zi, Fengzi and other small farmland water conservancy construction projects with high standards, which has been fully affirmed and praised by the leaders of Xiangtan and Xiangxiang. In terms of rural power, the Party Committee and Government of Maotian Town also made a big article, * * * completed the rectification of rural power network in nearly 30 villages. Through coordination and efforts, it is expected that a substation with a main transformer of 35,000 volts will be added in the second quarter, effectively alleviating the shortage of power consumption in Maotian. The basic realization of "good roads, smooth water and stable electricity" has greatly facilitated the production and life of Maotian people and further promoted the economic development of Maotian Town.

(2) Development and utilization of new energy. Although Maotian began to use new energy only in 2006, its development prospect is promising and gratifying: 82 biogas digesters were built in 2006, and more than 400 households have applied to the township energy station for construction.

(3) The construction of small towns progressed steadily. The construction of Fengzi Central Village was basically completed, and the investment in infrastructure was increased: more than 60,000 yuan was invested to build a special transformer for Fengzi Square, and135,000 yuan was invested to comprehensively transform the drainage and sewage system of the central village. The scale of market towns is expanding day by day, and hardware projects such as farmer's market, immigrant health center, agricultural technology service center, revitalization supermarket Maotian branch and passenger station have been built one after another. The construction of towns with Yongjia Bridge as the center and Fengzi Square as the radiation point is in full swing.

(4) Great progress has been made in culture, education, health, labor and communication. 45 villages have built cultural rooms and held a series of activities; The qualified rate of primary and secondary school teachers reached 10%, and the penetration rate of nine-year compulsory education reached 75%. The results of junior high school graduation examination have always been in the forefront of the city; In 2007, the participation rate of the new rural cooperative medical system reached 88%, and 45 village clinics in Maotian Town were standardized. The labor department has organized labor-intensive training for many times. In 2006 alone, there were two trainings and the number of people reached 65,438+05. The construction of communication network has also been further improved and developed, with 7 mobile base stations and more than 1000 cable TV users.

(5) The demonstration village has achieved remarkable results. Many tasks such as village planning, road hardening and biogas digester construction have been completed, and the "five reforms and one transformation" has also been fully launched, and the village appearance has been greatly improved. The successful construction of demonstration villages has set off an upsurge of Maotian's comprehensive promotion of new rural construction.
