Yudu County, located in the east of Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, was founded in the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty (20 1 BC), and is known as the "mother of six counties" and "three provinces of Fujian, Guangdong and Hunan". It is adjacent to Ruijin City in the east, Huichang County and Anyuan County in the south, Ganxian County in the west, Xingguo County and Ningdu County in the north. The county government is located in Gongjiang Town. The county seat is 65 kilometers away from Ganzhou and 422 kilometers away from Nanchang, the provincial capital. Yudu County was the seat of Gannan Provincial Party Committee and Gannan Soviet Government during the Central Soviet Area.
