According to Chen Taijie, a retired cadre of Yilong County Public Transport Bureau, most of the Hakka people in Yilong County come from Ruyuan and Wengyuan counties in Shaozhou, Guangdong Province, which confirms the records in the literature. Marshal Zhu De is a generation of Rong Yuan who made outstanding contributions to the establishment of new China. Zhu De Memorial Park, built in the center of the old city of Yilong, records and displays the great achievements of Marshal Zhu De's life. There is also 95-year-old Gleditsia sinensis planted next to Jincheng Primary School where Marshal Zhu De once taught, which has also become a place where people pay tribute to the revolutionary ancestors. There are also Zhu De's collected works and Zhu De's poems, which are both revolutionary classics and treasures of Hakka culture.

In addition, Hakka houses and Hakka halls with Lingnan style, as well as Hakka buildings such as "Guangdong Street", "Jade Palace" and "Wanshou Palace" are still preserved in this "Hakka City" and outside the city, which have become materialized specimens of Hakka culture.
