Lianshui is a first-class tributary of the left bank of Xiangjiang River, located in the lower reaches of Xiangjiang River. Originated at the southern foot of Guanyin Mountain in Xinshao County, it enters Loudi City from the Roman River in Xinshao County, flows through Lianyuan City, Louxing District and Development Zone from west to east, and then flows into Sunshui at Litouzui in Louxing District, then into Shuifumiao Reservoir, and then flows into Xiangjiang River at the estuary of Xiangtan County through Shuangfeng County and Xiangxiang City. The main tributaries are Mekong River, Sunshui River and Sidewater.

4. The key water conservancy projects in the main water system of Lianshui River in the 12th Five-Year Plan include Saihai Reservoir and Mabuqiao Reservoir.

5. Loudi vigorously promotes the expansion of Baima Reservoir and the planning and preliminary work of water source projects such as Liangsi Reservoir and Qujiang Reservoir.
