Who are the people of Slovakia?

Belong to the Slavic nation

Slavs can be roughly divided into East Slavs, West Slavs and South Slavs.

The East Slavs are mainly today’s Russians and Ukrainians; the West Slavs are today’s Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia; and the Yugoslavs are today’s Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, etc. (PS: The former Yugoslav Republic does not include Bulgaria, but the Bulgarians are Slavs)

In addition, Belarus belongs to the junction of East Slavia and West Slavia, and the three Baltic countries (i.e. Estonia, Latvia , Lithuania) are a mixture of Slavs and Nordic Germans.

The vast majority of West Slavs believe in Catholicism, and the majority of East Slavs and Yugoslavs believe in Orthodox Christianity.
