Textual research on Lu family tree in Henan Province

Lu's birthplace is in the west of Nanyang City, Henan Province. After the fall of Lu in the Spring and Autumn Period, its descendants were scattered in Qichun, Hubei, Nanyang, Henan, Yanggu, Shouxian, Fengtai and other places. The migration direction of land in Qin Dynasty was mainly in Shaanxi and Gansu. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the descendants of Lu Chengqi, a doctor of the State of Jin, flourished in Hedong (now southwest Shanxi Province) and later became a large local county. In the Han Dynasty, there were footprints of Lu surname in Henan, Shanxi, Shandong, Shaanxi, southern Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Anhui and other places. Among them, the descendants of Lu surnamed Dongping in Shandong and Huainan in Anhui developed into two prominent families in the history of Lu. In addition, Lv Qian, a native of the late Han Dynasty (now Shouxian County, Anhui Province), moved to Jinhua, Zhejiang Province to avoid the war disaster at the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, and later became a famous local family. Later people moved to Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong and other places. In the Tang dynasty, there was a rare prosperity in history, which made the development of Lu surname relatively stable and rapid. The size and population of Luxian county have also risen to a new level. Later, in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, a war broke out in the north, prompting the surname Lu to move south again. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the development of Lu family once again showed new characteristics. In addition to the surname Lu, which was widely circulated in most parts of the country, during the Kangxi period, some people emigrated overseas, first in Fujian and Guangdong, then in Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, the United States, Canada and other countries. Today, Shandong and Henan provinces are the majority of Lu surnames, accounting for about 3 1% of the total Han population in China. Lu is the 40th surname in China with a large population, accounting for 0.47% of the Han population in China.
