Application: Australian visa health requirements statement
-Form 26- Special medical examination form for applying for an Australian visa
-Form 160- Report Form of Special Chest X-ray Radiology Department for Visa Application in Australia
-Health assessment of overseas visa applicants over 70 years old.
Why are there health requirements? Australia enjoys the highest health standards in the world. In order to maintain these standards, all visa applicants must meet the health requirements stipulated in the immigration law before obtaining a visa to Australia.
Who needs a health check? If the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) believes that the applicant's health is related to the issuance of a visa, anyone who will go to Australia can be required to have a full-body examination and/or chest X-ray examination.
If you are 1 1 years old and plan to stay in Australia for 3 to 12 months, you need to have a chest X-ray examination.
If you plan to stay in Australia for more than (inclusive) 12 months, you need to have a general examination and chest X-ray examination.
Over 70 years old, regardless of the length of medical treatment, you must have a general examination. If the visit lasts for more than 3 months, X-ray chest X-ray examination is needed. Applicants aged 70 and above should use the health assessment form for overseas visa applicants aged 70 and above.
If you may need to enter a hospital, a child care center, a nursing home or a drug laboratory in Australia, you must have a general checkup and/or chest X-ray, regardless of the duration of the visit.
If it is possible for you to attend the study course for more than four weeks, you must have a general examination and/or chest X-ray examination.
If you are a "queuing" parent immigrant applicant, you must have a full-body examination and/or chest X-ray examination.
If you have had a general examination and/or X-ray chest X-ray in the designated doctor for your previous visa application in recent months, it is possible that the previous examination results are still valid and can be reused in subsequent visa applications submitted within 12 months from the date of medical examination. If this is the case, please check with the visa office before re-examination.
How should I arrange a health examination? If it is necessary for the applicant to have a physical examination, the visa office will contact the applicant within 10 working days after receiving the application. Or, if the applicant knows that he will be required to have a general examination and/or chest X-ray, and knows what kind of examination is needed, then the applicant can choose to have a physical examination before receiving our notice. The same applies to applicants for temporary residence visas.
For the application of partner immigration, the applicant needs to go to the designated hospital for general examination and X-ray chest X-ray before submitting the application. Applicants of other types of family immigrants need to wait for the notice from the Shanghai visa office before they can have a full-body examination and X-ray chest X-ray.
For more information about how to have a full-body examination and/or X-ray chest X-ray, please refer to the application form for the specific visa you are applying for in the visa category page.
Applicants must have a physical examination in a designated hospital. Applicants can make an appointment at the designated hospital of their choice-see the list of designated doctors in China-and make sure to bring the following materials with them during the physical examination:
Form 26 and/or form160; Each form needs a passport-sized photo; Passport (if applicable) or ID card applicants should also know the type of visa they apply for, because the designated doctor needs this information to fill out the medical examination form. The applicant should arrange the whole body examination and/or chest X-ray examination by himself.
What will happen after the health check? The doctor will send me the physical examination results directly. If any health hazards are found in the inspection, our office must send the results to the Australian Health Assessment Service Center (HAS) for further advice. According to the requirements of the law, we must accept the opinions of the Australian Health Assessment Service Center on whether the applicant meets the health requirements. Before issuing a visa, HAS can ask the applicant for further physical examination.
If our office needs to send the physical examination results to HAS, it may take 4 weeks to receive HAS's comments. HAD may require the applicant to undergo further physical examination. Therefore, the hearing time of the application will be further extended. The applicant has 49 days from the date of issuance of the medical examination letter, and the hospital will send the complete medical examination form to our office (the date of medical examination for student visa applicants is indicated in the PVA letter).
If re-examination is required, the applicant must re-examine it within 49 days from the date of issuance of the medical examination letter.
