Hakka in Heyuan refers to the Han nationality in the Central Plains, and has been moving southward since Qin and Han Dynasties. The most obvious feature of Hakka people is that they can speak Hakka dialect, which is one of the eight major dialects of the Han nationality. Refers to the Hakkas who are distributed in Heyuan City or the original Heyuan City, and are the proud group of Hakkas. Now it is mainly distributed in the northeast of Guangdong Province, located in Heyuan City in the upper reaches of Dongjiang River. Heyuan City is located in Meizhou in the east, Huizhou in the south, Shaoguan in the west and Ganzhou in Jiangxi in the north. It is a prefecture-level city approved by the State Council, 1988. With a total population of over 3.4 million, this city is one of the few pure Hakka areas in China.
