Pets can go directly from Chinese mainland to Japan, where they must be quarantined for a period of time. There are two situations, one is that 12 hours can complete quarantine, and the other is 180 days. So, how to distinguish these two situations? If all the supporting documents and procedures are obtained in full accordance with the relevant regulations of Japan, the pet can be taken away after a simple inspection. However, if any item fails to meet the requirements, Japanese Customs will require the pets to be sent to quarantine 180 days.

(1) Inoculate the electronic chip. Cats and dogs entering Japan must be injected with electronic chips as the only identification evidence before entering the country. The standard of electronic chip shall conform to ISO 1 1784 or 1 1785, otherwise, it shall have its own chip identification.

(2) Vaccinate against rabies. (5) notify the entry point in advance. Notify the animal quarantine service center at the entry airport at least 40 days before the pet enters Japan. The contents of the notice shall include:

(6) Obtain the documents of the exporting country. This refers to the exit certificate of the quarantine bureau. Carry out the relevant animal physical examination first, and then get the exit permit from the quarantine bureau. You need to be inspected when you enter Japan. Japanese officials suggest using their unified file format, and samples can be downloaded from their websites.

(7) Entry-exit inspection. After entering Japan, submit the inspection application form to the animal isolation service center, and the officials of the center will check the animal's health status, various procedures and supporting documents. If all the requirements are met, the pet can be successfully brought back to its previous home.

Note: Pets can only enter Japan from the following ports or airports: Jammu Port, Keihin Port, Nagoya Port, Hanshin Port, Guanmen Port, Hakata Port, Kagoshima Airport, Naha Port, new chitose airport, Narita International Airport and Tokyo International Airport (Tian Yu Airport).

Tip: the physical examination of pets after the competition is free, but the expenses of transportation, diet and treatment of pets need to be borne by the participants themselves. If the pet meets the admission requirements and does not need to be isolated, the above expenses can be basically ignored. If the pet is found to have missing formalities or the health condition can't meet the entry requirements after entry, it needs quarantine 180 days, so the quarantine fee and pet transportation fee are all borne by the entrant.
