Xixian County is located in the northwest edge of Linfen City and at the southern foot of Luliang Mountain in the west of Shanxi Province, which is a typical gully region of the Loess Plateau. The county government is located in Longquan town. Fenxi in the east, Yonghe in the west, Puxian and Daning in the south, Shilou and Jiaokou in the north. It is 45km wide from east to west and 52km long from north to south, with a total area of 14 15.3km2 (2008) and a total population of 10300 (2009).

There are more than 30 cultural relics in Xixian County. It is the most famous building "Xiaoxitian" in the west of Ming Dynasty.
