Did Singaporeans and Malaysians immigrate from China before?

There are three major immigration trends in the history of China:

The first time was the demise of the Southern Song Dynasty, which led to the migration of the Han nationality to the south, and some of them moved overseas to the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and other places to thrive.

The second time was in the early Ming Dynasty. With the large-scale overseas activities of the government in the early Ming Dynasty, a large number of ancestors of the Ming Dynasty rushed to emigrate overseas.

The third trip to Nanyang in the middle and late Qing Dynasty was the largest migration activity in history.

Chinese living in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia are basically descendants of the third immigration. There are two kinds of China people now, one is Chinese, which refers to the descendants of Chinese who have joined their place of residence, and the other is China people. Those who retain China nationality (mainly the nationality of the Republic of China) can be called China people. People's Republic of China (PRC) forces local Chinese to become local citizens, and dual citizenship is not allowed. Therefore, more than 90% of overseas people are from China, so they can't be called China people.
