Huangshi seawall is located in Huangshi Town, Licheng District, Fujian Province, spanning three villages: Dongjia, Xucuo and Zhelang. During the Tang Yuanhe period (806 ~ 820), it was initiated by Pei Ziyuan, a Fujian observer. In the 20th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1387), Xiahou Zhou Dexing demolished the levee, and Jianping Haishuo City and Puxisuo City were built. After many repair decisions, it was rebuilt many times in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the last overhaul was in the eighth year of Qing Daoguang (1828). After 1950s, the reinforcement and heightening of the back side of the dike still play a role. The existing dike is 3.5 kilometers long, made of granite, and the foundation is made of big pine tree. It is the longest ancient seawall in Fujian Province, and there is still the "Zhenhai Dam" stone tablet inscribed by Sun Erzhun, Governor of Qing, Fujian and Zhejiang provinces.
