The development of Xikou Town was in line with the social and political pulse at that time. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, like other places in Sichuan, there was a period of decline. The ruling class, the Ming and Qing dynasties, brutally suppressed the peasant uprising army Zhang, resulting in a sharp decline in population and a vast territory with few people. The Qing government had to adopt the policy of immigrants from other provinces entering Sichuan. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1662 to 1795), a large number of immigrants from Hunan, Hubei, Guangdong, Fujian and Jiangxi entered Sichuan. Among the local residents, most of their ancestral homes moved in when "Huguang coal was full of Sichuan". The Jade Palace in the town (now the town primary school) was built by Huguang people. Huaying Coal Mine also has the site of Jiangxi Guild Hall. The 16th year of Qianlong (A.D. 175 1) was a prosperous period here. According to Huayin Mountain, in the 16th year of Emperor Gaozong of Qing Dynasty, Tongguan Department of Shunqing Prefecture was located in Daxikou (the site was in Huaying Coal Mine), and in the 12th year of Emperor Xuanzong of Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1832), it was incorporated into the province. It is also recorded that Daxikouchang City is located at the west street of Xikouchang today, on one side of Tuolin Temple and on the other side of Hexi, and the street site still exists today. During the Qianlong period, the city moved here. There are 35 temples in Daxikou, which can prove its prosperity.

Before 1978, Xikou Town was just a small market. Only a few blocks, 230 families, 2 130 people. From 1978 to 1993, the development and construction of Xikou Town has gone through a tortuous and arduous road.

Due to the great leap forward in production in 1958, the Huaying Mountain130,000 mu of forest (about 560,000 cubic meters of wood) was completely cut down. By 1962, Xikou Ironmaking Plant was closed and the coal mine was closed. In agriculture, the problem of food and clothing for the masses has not been solved due to the influence of "grandiosity" and the "Left" erroneous idea of focusing solely on grain. Agricultural grain output has been hovering around 300 Jin for a long time, and there is no way to get rich. It's still very hard to rely on loans and resell food. Smash the counter-revolutionary clique of Lin Biao and Jiang Qing, ending the turmoil of the ten-year Cultural Revolution. Especially after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the rural areas implemented the contract responsibility system of joint production, and the grain yield per mu reached more than 800 kilograms. The problem of food and clothing for the people has been fundamentally solved. Encouraged by the policy of "reform, opening up and invigorating", agriculture, industry, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in Xikou have developed rapidly. Relying on market towns and driven by state-owned backbone enterprises, township enterprises have mushroomed, broken ground and spread all over the town.

1993 After the construction of the district, the development and construction of Xikou Town have made rapid progress, and emerging industries, tourism, characteristic agriculture and social undertakings have made great progress.

Today, Xikou Town is not only the owner of Eucalyptus grandis, but also the town has changed from traditional development to being based on its own reality, insisting on scientific development and becoming bigger and stronger in the development of industries such as industry and tourism. Through continuous exploration, the total output value of industrial enterprises above designated size is 906.69 million yuan, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size is 362.67 million yuan, and the sales income of industrial enterprises above designated size is 906.69 million yuan. On the basis of increasing 1 enterprise in the same period, it increased by 205%, 106%, 127% and 56% respectively.
