Legal Basis: Notice on the Treatment of Retired Persons Approved to Settle Abroad Article 1 Retirement expenses and living expenses of retired and resigned persons who have settled abroad enjoy the same treatment as those of retired and resigned persons in China, and their retirement expenses, living expenses and non-staple food price subsidies, food (coal) price subsidies, industrial injury and disability subsidies for enterprise employees, disability pensions issued by civil affairs departments, etc. It is paid by the unit that pays the retirement and resignation benefits (the unit that pays the retirement fee and retirement living expenses receives it from the civil affairs department of my original residence), or entrusts domestic relatives and friends to receive it until my death. The foreign exchange required to pay this treatment shall be handled by the local People's Bank of China in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Examination and Approval of Individual Foreign Exchange Applications promulgated by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
