Born in Taipei in 1968, his father is A native of mainland China, Yang Zhiyuan died when he was two years old. Mother is a professor of English and drama. He immigrated to the United States with his mother at the age of 10 and grew up in San Jose, California. He studied at Stanford University in California and received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
