Before 1950s, the import and export of goods in Rongxian was mainly by water, supplemented by land transportation.

Especially, after the whole line is channelized and ships of 500 tons to 1000 tons are navigable, scenic spots such as Zhenwuge in Rongxian County and Shibiao Mountain in tengxian will be connected downstream from the loophole of Beiliu Hook, which will greatly promote the development of local tourism.

On 20 12, Yulin city began to implement the plan for the resumption of navigation of Jiangxiu River. The whole section of Jiangxiu River has a graded waterway177km, including 92km in Yulin City (Beiliu15km and 77km in Rongxian County).
