Maoyong Village, located in Zhangshui Town, Haishu District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, has a history of more than 400 years and enjoys the reputation of "the first ancient tree village in eastern Zhejiang" because of its towering ancient trees. There are 96 ancient and famous trees in the village, 52 of which are over 400 years old. The most famous is Song of King Qian Qian.

Tree height is 5 1m, tree circumference is 4.3 m, DBH 1.35m, and tree age 1000. DBH and standing stock both rank first in China, so it is a veritable "king of Pinus bungeana" and is known as "the first pine in China". Maoyong Village is located in the upper reaches of Zhougongzhai Reservoir, 20 kilometers west of Zhangshui Town, and adjacent to Chishui Village. The total number of households in the village is 139 and the registered population is 3 14.

Forest area 1930 mu (including 400 mu of tea and 790 mu of Zhushan) and cultivated land area 146 mu. At present, there are 320 residential houses, and the villagers' houses are old stone bungalows built on the mountain. Most of the villagers mainly grow bamboo, tea and ginkgo, with a per capita income of about 3,500 yuan.

The overall relocation of Maoyong Village is one of the geological disaster resettlement projects in Ningbo. In the city's 20 1 1 annual geological disaster prevention plan, Maoren village was listed as the key hidden danger point of geological disasters in that year-the main disaster type was landslide. In May 2006, it was named "Top Ten New Villages with Green Landscape in Ningbo".

Gushu kingdom

Climbing over the mountains to Maozhong Village, the first thing you see is the lush towering old trees at the entrance of the village. These ancient trees include pine, maple, torreya grandis and ginkgo. Although the oldest trees have been weathered for more than 600 years, they are still flourishing and well preserved, and the height of the trees can reach about 40 to 50 meters.

Each tree needs three or four adult men to support it. The most amazing thing is an unknown old tree at the entrance of the village (the diameter of the tree is about 1 m). Although the middle of the trunk has completely rotted, the light of the sky can be faintly seen from the hole at the bottom of the tree, but the crown is still flourishing and full of vitality.
