Social development of Xinmiao Town

Xinmiao Town raised nearly 3 million yuan and completed the tap water connection project with the urban area in 2000; it strived for national investment and took the lead in completing the rural power grid reconstruction project in Echeng District in 2001; it raised nearly 10 million yuan and completed the project in 2001. In 2002, the goal of connecting every village with cement roads was achieved, and more than 70 kilometers of cement roads were built.

Since 2001, Xinmiao Town has actively participated in the connection line on the south bank of the Ezhou-Huang Bridge, the extension of Binhu South Road, the restoration of the Yanglan Lake dike to the lake, the construction of the Yangtze River embankment, the relocation of Koch Asphalt Company, The coordination and service of key projects such as WISCO Ezhou Pellet Plant and municipal natural gas pipeline auxiliary construction are high-quality, efficient and fast. Especially in 2003, it only took half a year to complete the demolition of 426 households at the WISCO Ezhou Pellet Factory and the reconstruction of 27 buildings with 612 houses in Jinhua Community.

The "three streets" of the market town are beginning to show their characteristics. The Anju leisure street from Maocao to Wentang has settled 1,000 families and nearly 3,500 residents; the industrial street of Xin'eyan Road has already invested 10 million yuan in East Hubei. Projects such as automobiles and Datong Logistics have been settled; a material and trade street along the E-Huang Bridge has included the Echeng Administrative Office Center and Ezhou Party School in the planning. Maocao New Town, Qiaodong Market Town, and Wentang Ancient Town are integrated into one. Jinhua Community, the demolition and resettlement project of WISCO's Ezhou Pellet Plant, has become a model for demolition and resettlement of new villages in the city.
