Brief introduction of Chongqing Huguang guild hall

Chongqing Huguang Guild Hall is located on the Yangtze River in Dongshuimen, Yuzhong District, Chongqing. It is a general term for ancient buildings and antique new buildings in the early Qing Dynasty, such as Guangdong Academy, Kai 'an Department and Yu Palace. This is the largest known ancient club complex in the central part of the country. The guild hall was built in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, and has been continuously expanded, newly built and rebuilt since the Daoguang period of Qianlong. At present, the guild hall was rebuilt in Daoguang and Guangxu years of Qing Dynasty, with a history of nearly 300 years. It is a historical witness of Chongqing's commercial prosperity in the Qing Dynasty, and also an important symbol of Chongqing's immigrant culture, commercial culture and architectural culture from the early Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China.

Chongqing Huguang Sichuan Immigration Museum is located in an antique new building, which vividly reproduces an extremely important immigration wave in the history of human immigration-Huguang Sichuan Immigration Movement. What impact this immigration movement will have on the cultural and economic life of Sichuan and Chongqing in the future is answered here. Coming here is like going back to the magnificent immigration movement more than 300 years ago. The special exhibition of guild hall culture is a profound interpretation of many immigrant guild halls in Sichuan and Chongqing. The origin, ability, architecture, beliefs and activities of the guild hall, once laid out, are like a beautiful silk in Duan Hua, which makes future generations marvel.

In front, the Yangtze River flows eastward, and behind it are buildings that have been silent for more than 300 years. Standing still, those mottled smoke clouds, dazzling brilliance, endless prosperity and endless vicissitudes are all coming today.
