Are Ukraine and Russia the same nation?

Not a nation, Russia is mainly Russian and Ukraine is mainly Ukrainian. However, the two ethnic groups have the same root and origin, and they are all differentiated by Slavs.

In many works of Marx and Engels, the early history of Russia and Ukraine is written together. For example, Kiev is considered as the mother of Gullas. Later, with the invasion of Mongolia, several early Russian principalities were conquered. Later, after leaving Mongolia, the Principality of Moscow became more and more powerful and became Russia (formerly known as Ross, the Mongols added "Russia" to show their contempt ~ ~), while Ukraine fell into the hands of Poland after many twists and turns.

Later, the founding father of Ukraine, Herzog Mirni, revolted, and Ukraine left Poland, but Poland was a European power at that time, so Herzog turned to Russia for help (after all, it was a family hundreds of years ago). As a result, after more than ten years of war, Poland was defeated and Ukraine was merged into Russia. However, as a border area, it still enjoys certain independence rights, which is somewhat similar to that of England and Scotland. In addition, it was far from the ruling center of Russia at that time, so it was not assimilated in the end, but now there are Ukrainians.

As for their contradiction, it is natural. Because of anger against the tsar, Ukraine has been fighting for independence in history, and the tsar has certainly been suppressing it. Therefore, relations have always been bad in history. Later, it became the Soviet Union, and the contradiction eased a little. After the disintegration, the two countries began to quarrel over the legacy of the disintegration of the Soviet Union.
