What are the requirements for a work visa in Finland? What materials are needed?

To work as a chef in Finland, you need to apply for a Finnish residence permit, but you don't need a visa. To apply for a residence permit in Finland, you must bring your passport, ID card and application form to the Finnish Embassy in China. The required materials are as follows:

Two pages of photos (OLEL_PK) are attached to the residence permit application form. Two passport photos of the last six months are attached to the form and cannot be nailed to the application form.

The job invitation letter or job description issued by the employer, the original and two copies, indicating the applicant's salary, stay time and scope of duties, and signed by the inviter.

If the applicant will be engaged in technical work in Finland, such as cook, welder, nurse, etc. He/she needs to submit the original and two copies of the professional qualification certificate certified by the notary office and the certification department of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

If the applicant currently has a job or has work experience, he/she must submit a notarized work certificate or a work experience certificate certified by the consul of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the original and two copies.

The chef must submit the original and two copies of the medical certificate notarized and certified by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Applications for long-term residence permits must be submitted in person to the Finnish Embassy in China. The decision to apply for a long-term residence permit is made by the Finnish Immigration Bureau, and the Finnish Embassy in China cannot provide consulting services to the applicant. After the long-term residence permit card arrives at the Finnish Embassy in China, the Embassy will inform the applicant.
