Shangshu, assistant minister of household affairs

Wu Xianxiu was born in Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (AD 742) in Tianbao Renwu. His name is Jing Zhi, and his ancestral home is Bianzhou Junyi. He is a scholarly family and a eunuch's family. 18 years old, became an official after Jinshi, and served as a pawn in Hengzhou, a magistrate in Jianning County, a historian, and a secretary for agriculture. He was promoted by Prime Minister Li Bi and promoted to Assistant Minister and Shangshu. During these forty-seven years, he experienced four emperors: Tang Suzong, Daizong, Dezong and Shunzong. When Li Yu was in Tang Daizong, Yuan Zai, the prime minister, was in power and committed many evils. The emperor Li Yu secretly ordered him to be removed from office. In 777 AD, Wu Xianxiu cooperated with Yan Zhenqing, the minister of the Ministry of War, and successfully destroyed Yuan Zai, the prime minister, making great contributions. His integrity also offended some treacherous court officials.

In the spring of Tang Zhenyuan Yiyou (805), Prime Minister Pei Yanling came to power in North Korea, and his henchmen Wang and others controlled the state affairs. At that time, Wu Xianxiu was exiled to Asia. At that time, Tang Shunzong Li Yong, who had just succeeded to the throne, was unstable, knowing that Wu Xianxiu was decent, but he could do nothing. Specially given "De Zesheng was born in China, renowned in China and honored in the motherland", and ordered Wu to carry a bronze medal on his back. Unfortunately, these bronze medals can't be found now.

According to "History of Chinese Immigrants", in the autumn of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty (805), Wu Xianxiu took more than 30 family members out of Chang 'an, and was escorted by General Gao Chongwen with 10 guards. He traveled by land and water to Putian Station in Fujian, arrived in Leizhou, Guangdong via Huichang, entered Qiongzhou, and settled in Duhua Village, Zhangwu, Qiongshan, which is now Dalin Village (Old Town Village) in Yanfeng Town, Meilan District. In 807, Gao Chongwen was promoted to the position of Minister of War, and Wu Xianxiu died at the age of 66. Gao Chongwen chose a place for his old friend and buried him in Longwopo, Jinyanfeng Town.

Qiongzhou court awarded meritorious plaque.

When Wu Shuo and Wu Xianxiu came to Tuduhua Village in Zhangwu, it was sparsely populated, with inconvenient transportation and backward economy and culture. After Wu Xianxiu settled down, he led the local people to build homes and temples to run schools, and the Dalin area gradually prospered. At the end of 806 AD, many farmers moved to Dalin, and the local population was prosperous. The cultural and educational undertakings initiated by Wu Suo moved from here to Qiongzhou, and later Qiongtai Academy and Confucius Temple were built one after another.

In the 11th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty, Qiongzhou government platform was transformed into Dalin market, and fair trade was implemented. In memory of him, Dalin Village, where Wu Xianxiu once lived, is now called Old Town Village. In the thirty-fifth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1556), the court sent Zhao Wenhua, Minister of Industry and Trade, to inspect the south of the Yangtze River to learn about the development of Dalin culture in Qiongzhou. After reporting to Emperor Jiajing, he posthumously awarded Wu Xianxiu as the pioneer of Qiongzhou culture and presented a stone tablet of "Dalin Yiguan City". Qiongzhou Daotai House is carved on a stone and hung at the gate of Dalin Market. Since then, "Dalin Guan Yi City" has replaced the "Zhangwu Tuduhua Village" with a history of more than 500 years.

According to textual research, Wu Xianxiu was a senior official who entered Qiongzhou earlier in ancient times. He arrived in Qiongzhou 43 years earlier than Li Deyu, the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty in Wugong Temple, and was the ancestor of Wu's entry into Qiongzhou. Later, Qiu Jun, Hai Rui, Zhang, Wu Youduan, Wu Yuedian, Wu and Su Dongpo all appeared in Qiongzhou, which promoted the development of Hainan culture.
