Summary of content:

"Others have planted peaches for nine thousand years, but he doesn't follow." The owner said hello and picked it up to eat. When they stopped him, he not only refused to listen to the dissuasion, but also attacked and destroyed the other people's peach orchard. He took it and ate the pills that others had worked hard to make. He suffered a bloody head and even destroyed his production workshop before leaving - such a savage and mischievous monkey was actually portrayed as a hero by Xu Datong in a video game..." - in the movie "Gua Sha" , the American lawyer hired by the prosecution described Sun Wukong in "Journey to the West" in court to prove that Xu Datong, who immigrated to the United States, had violent tendencies.

The story takes place in St. Louis, a city on the Mississippi River in central America. Xu Datong [played by Tony Leung Ka Fai] has been in the United States for eight years, with a successful career and a happy family. At the annual industry awards conference, he excitedly told everyone: I love the United States, and my American dream has finally come true! But an accident happened next and Xu Datong woke up from his dream.

Five-year-old Dennis had a stomach fever. Because his grandfather [Zhu Xu] at home could not understand the English instructions on the medicine, he used the scraping therapy popular in China to treat Dennis, and this became Evidence of Xu Datong's child abuse after Dennis had an accident.

In the court, one unexpected witness and testimony after another left Xu Datong at a loss to defend himself. And the Western medical theory based on anatomy cannot explain the empirical traditional Chinese medicine passed down by word of mouth. Faced with the prosecution lawyer's "new interpretation" of traditional Chinese culture and moral norms, Xu Datong finally lost his calmness and reason... The judge announced in court that Xu Datong would be deprived of custody rights and would not be allowed to see his son.

There were misunderstandings and conflicts between the angry Xu Datong and his friend Kunlan; Xu Datong moved out of the house so that his son could stay at home and be cared for by his mother (played by Jiang Wenli); his father also decided to return to China. In order for the old man to see his grandson again before leaving, Xu Datong stole his son Dennis from the child custody center and took him to the airport to say goodbye. Xu Datong, who was wanted, escaped with his son, went around in circles with the police who were aggressively pursuing him, played a car chase game, and "calmly" enjoyed the moment of reunion between father and son while on the run.

Father and son are separated, husband and wife are separated, friends are broken up, jobs are abandoned... disasters come one after another like a nightmare, and a family that was originally beautiful and happy becomes torn apart in the blink of an eye. The realized American dream was completely shattered by this sudden lawsuit. In a dilapidated apartment in a slum, the Datong couple who met secretly drank to drown their sorrows and cried in each other's arms.

On Christmas night, Xu Datong missed his family and was eager to reunite with his children, so he took a desperate step and dressed up as "Santa Claus" and secretly walked from the water pipe outside the apartment building to the window of his own home on the tenth floor. Climb away, only to attract a police car roaring towards you...
