The size of towns in the reservoir area

The Luhun reservoir area was originally Pingchuan before the reservoir was built, and was known as the granary of Song County. After the construction of the reservoir, more than 40,000 acres of cultivated land were submerged, and 23 villages, 3,940 households, and 26,000 people were relocated. There are many hilly areas in the reservoir area. There are Wucun River, Longju River, Ganjian River, Xinlegou River and Caozigou River. They usually have no water, but floods cause disasters in the rainy season. To the west is hilly land, suitable for agricultural production. To the east is Luhun Reservoir, with a storage capacity of 1.29 billion cubic meters. The development of fishery production is a natural advantage.

The total grain output in 1953 was 10.41 million jins, the total grain output in 1979 was 12.091 million jins, and the total grain output in 1985 was 7.799 million jins. Compared with 1979, the output decreased by 4.292 million jins, but the yield per mu was 390 jins. 54 pounds more than in 1979.

In 1985, there were 1 agricultural vehicle, 13 large and medium-sized tractors, 98 walking tractors, 384 irrigation and drainage machines (sets), 375 agricultural product processing machines (sets), and 172 harvesting machines.

In 1983, there were 2,700 acres of suitable forest area, including 750 acres of apples and 1,300 acres of tung intercropping. In the winter of the same year, the forest rights certificate was issued. In 1984, 450,000 trees were planted on all sides, and contracts were signed for 240 acres of bamboo gardens and 370 acres of reed gardens.

In 1985, there were 1,396 large livestock, 6,501 pigs, 398 mountain and sheep, 28,900 poultry, 27,000 woolly rabbits, and 106 bees.
