Where is Ganzi?

Ganzi is located in the west of Sichuan Province, southeast of Kangzang Plateau.

Ganzi is located in the transitional zone between Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and Sichuan Basin. It borders Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture and Ya 'an City in the east, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and Yunnan Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the south, Qamdo area in Xizang Autonomous Region along Jinsha River in the west and Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province in the north, with an administrative area of152,600 square kilometers.

Ganzi is one of the regions with the richest landscape types, ecosystem types and biological species in the world. It not only preserves a large number of ancient biological groups, but also evolves many new species. It is the most well-preserved primitive ecosystem, the most complete natural vertical zone and the most representative temperate ecosystem in China.

The climate of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture mainly belongs to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which shows an obvious vertical distribution trend with the height difference. It is characterized by low temperature, long winter, less precipitation and sufficient sunshine. The economy of this area is characterized by geographical distribution.

The geographical latitude of Ganzi Prefecture belongs to the subtropical climate zone, but due to the strong uplift and complex terrain, most areas have lost the subtropical climate characteristics, forming a continental plateau mountain monsoon climate, which is complex and diverse, with significant regional differences.
