Application requirements for studying abroad at the University of Macau

1. Mainland College Entrance Examination Students

The University of Macau recruits College Entrance Examination students independently and is not part of the unified admissions plan for ordinary universities across the country. The registration and admission of candidates at our school will not affect their Voluntary admission to the Mainland College Entrance Examination.

(1) Enrollment Scope

Open to 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country.

(2) Application Qualifications

Candidates must have a high school graduation or an educational level equivalent to a high school graduation, and must participate in the 2023 national unified admissions of colleges and universities organized by each province (municipal) In the examination (college entrance examination), the scores must reach the first batch admission score for undergraduates in the province (city)/the special admission control score, and admission will be based on merit.

(3) English requirements

English: Applicants must score 110 points or above in the English subject of the college entrance examination in 2023 (calculated based on the 150-point English single subject system, other scoring systems will Calculated based on this ratio).

(4) Registration and Admission

1. Recruitment time: May 2 to June 25, 2023, online registration is required.

2. Registration application: During the registration period, you can fill in your personal information and application directly through the online registration system on the school's official website. You can apply for up to 3 applications.

3. Admission method: Admission will be based on merit, and the admission order will be based on the priority of the application.

4. Announcement of results: Admission results will be announced in batches in the online application system in early to mid-July 2023.

5. Confirm admission: Admitted freshmen shall pay the first semester tuition and submit payment receipt within the time specified in the admission and payment notice to confirm admission qualifications.

In late July 2023, admission confirmation letters will be mailed to admitted students to apply for passes and procedures for entering Macao.

(5) Preferential policy for extra points

The University of Macau will provide extra points for college entrance examination applicants from the following provinces and cities:

Possessions from Beijing or Guangdong Province Applicants who have passed the college entrance examination will add 5 points to their college entrance examination scores for admission.

Applicants who have passed the examination in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province can add 10 points to their college entrance examination scores to participate in the admission.

Applicants who are registered in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province and have household registration in Hengqin can add 5 points to their college entrance examination scores to participate in the admissions.

2. Mainland international course students

Mainland (non-college entrance examination) students will be admitted to bachelor's degree programs in the 2023/2024 academic year - enrolled in international courses or holding international public examination scores. The relevant regulations are not yet available announced. Please refer to the 2022 Admissions Brochure and pay attention to the official website for follow-up information.

(1) Application Qualifications

Fresh high school graduates with Mainland household registration.

Currently studying international courses in schools in the Mainland or overseas or holding the listed public examination results.

(2) Basic academic achievement requirements

1. General Diploma of Education Advanced Level Examination (GCE?A?Level)

Must complete A in the first academic year -Level courses (AS level).

Obtain grades E or above in three AL subjects on or before August 18, 2022 (excluding English/Chinese subjects).

For those who apply for courses at the Institute of Science and Technology, the above subject requirements include physics.

For those who apply for courses in the School of Health Sciences, the above subject requirements include chemistry.

2. International Baccalaureate Diploma

Must complete the first-year IB Diploma course.

Complete the IB Diploma course and obtain the certificate before July 10, 2022.

3. Academic Ability Assessment Test (SAT)

Currently studying in grade 12.

Obtain an SAT score of 1,190 or above before July 10, 2022 (1,600 is the full score).

4. American College Test (ACT)

Currently studying in grade 12.

Achieve a comprehensive ACT score of 24 or above before July 10, 2022.

5. Canadian high school diploma

Studying Canadian high school courses since grade 10

Currently studying in grade 12

With July 2022 Obtain official admission qualifications for bachelor's degree programs in higher education institutions outside Macao for the 2022/2023 academic year before October 10.

(3) Language requirements

1. TOEFL:

(Paper-based test) 550 points or above

(Internet-based test) 79 points or above

(TOEFL iBT Home Edition applicable)

2. IELTS: total score 6.0 points or above.

(4) Registration Information

Applicants must submit the following documentary evidence during the registration period:

1. Copy of Mainland Resident ID Card

2. English score certificate: TOEFL, IELTS (other categories of English scores will not be accepted)

3. Public examination scores

Note:

(For those who fail to obtain test scores during the registration period, the school will send an email in late June 2022 to remind applicants to upload relevant documents to the online application system before the above deadline.)

4. Those currently studying in high school School recommender

Applicants must fill in the school recommender and their contact information (including name, position, phone number, email, school website, etc.) in the registration system. School applicants must be the counselor/teacher/principal of the high school where the applicant is attending. After the applicant submits the application fee, the system will send an invitation email to the school recommender to fill in the online recommendation form. After the applicant submits the application fee, the school recommender information cannot be changed. ·

The school recommender must submit the online recommendation form and the applicant’s admission report on or before May 31, 2022, to be deemed complete. After submitting the online recommendation form, both the applicant and the school recommender will be notified by email. Applicants should follow up on their own in a timely manner to see whether the school recommender has submitted the online recommendation form. If the school recommender fails to submit the online recommendation form on time, the applicant will be deemed to have not completed the application process and will not be processed.

(5) Registration and Admission

1. Registration time: May 10, 2023 - May 23, 2023, online registration is adopted.

2. Announcement of results: The admission results will be announced in late July 2023.

Courses offered by the University of Macau in the 2023/2024 academic year - applicable to mainland applicants
