What are the methods for cutting steel plates?
Steel plate cutting refers to the process of using natural gas flame (oxygen-natural gas) to preheat the cut metal to the burning point where it can be burned violently, and then releasing hyperbaric oxygen airflow to further violently oxidize the metal, blow off the slag produced by combustion and form a cut.
Steel plate cutting method
Flame cutting: flame cutting equipment is the only economical and effective means to cut thick metal plates with low cost, but it has its shortcomings when cutting thin plates. Compared with plasma, the heat affected zone and thermal deformation of flame cutting are much larger. In order to cut accurately and effectively, the operator needs to have superb technology to avoid thermal deformation of the metal plate in time during cutting.
Laser cutting: Laser cutting equipment can cut stainless steel below 4mm, and carbon steel with a thickness of 20mm can be cut by adding oxygen to the laser beam, but a thin oxide film will be formed on the cutting surface after oxygen cutting. The maximum thickness of cutting can be increased to 20mm, but the size error of cutting parts is large. The price of laser cutting equipment is quite expensive, about 6.5438+0.5 million yuan.
WEDM: WEDM for short. It is developed on the basis of EDM piercing forming. It not only expands the application of EDM, but also replaces EDM perforation in some aspects. Today, WEDM accounts for more than half of EDM.
Shearing machine: Shearing machine applies shearing force to metal plates with various thicknesses through movable upper blade and fixed lower blade, so that the plates are broken and separated according to the required size. Shearing machine is a kind of forging machinery, and its main function is metal processing industry.
Plasma cutting machine: plasma cutting is a processing method that uses the heat of high-temperature plasma arc to melt (and evaporate) part of the metal at the workpiece incision, and uses the momentum of high-speed plasma to remove the molten metal to form the incision.
Ultra-high-pressure water cutting: Ultra-high-pressure water cutting, also known as water knife and water jet, is a high-energy (380MPa) water flow generated by multi-stage pressurization of ordinary water, and then it passes through a very fine ruby nozzle (φ 0. 1-0.35 mm) and is sprayed and cut at a speed of nearly 1,000 meters per second. This cutting method is called ultra-high pressure water cutting.
