The No.1 Middle School in Qiubei County, Yunnan Province, whose Zhuang language name is Ranzsawsang Daih`it Hawcou, was formerly known as "Qiubei County Ethnic Primary School" founded by 193 1. 1936, Qiubei gentry realized the importance of developing local culture and education, that is, winning the support of the government and establishing Qiubei county junior high school, thus establishing Qiubei.

After the founding of New China, in 195 1 year, the provincial people's government co-ordinated funds and distributed them to teachers, and established "Junior Middle School in Qiubei County, Yunnan Province", which was directly under the jurisdiction of the Provincial Department of Culture and Education, and Wenshan specialized in art education. Subsequently, the number of schools in the county gradually increased. 1958, Qiubei Junior High School was renamed as "Qiubei No.1 Middle School", and a number of outstanding teachers were selected by the superior, including Zhang Wenrong.

1960, in order to solve the difficulties for Qiubei students to travel long distances to Kunming, Wenshan, Guangnan and other places to attend high schools, Qiubei No.1 Middle School opened its first high school and became the first complete middle school in Qiubei County. In turbulent times, Qiubei No.1 Middle School 1967 was renamed as "Hongqi Middle School", and 1969 was renamed as "May 7th College". It was not until September 1972 that it was restored as "Qiubei County No.1 Middle School". Qiubei No.1 Middle School became a provincial second-class first-class complete middle school on 1996.
