Liu Yuxi’s translation of the Song of Changing Fields is as follows:

Under Lianzhou City, there is a village. By chance, I boarded the city tower of Lianzhou County and felt something. So I wrote a folk song about what I felt, waiting for collectors to collect it.

The flowers and grass on the hill are all covered together, and the swallows fly east and west. Looking from afar, Tiancheng looks like a line, a piece of white water with jagged waves. The peasant woman wears a white linen skirt, and the farmer wears a green grass raincoat. Let's sing Tianzhong songs together, whispering like bamboo branches. But when I hear the plaintive singing, I don’t understand the slang and can’t tell the lyrics. There was a burst of laughter from time to time, and they must be laughing and playing with each other. The paddy fields are flat, the seedlings are deserted, and the fireworks are rising in every village. The big yellow dog walked back and forth, and the red rooster croaked and pecked.

There is a young man on the side of the road, wearing a black hat and a long-sleeved shirt. He reported that he was a senior planner and had just left the capital at the beginning of the year. Tian Fu said to the planner: "I am very familiar with your family. As soon as you returned to your hometown from Chang'an, you pretended not to know anyone you met." The planner smiled and replied: "Chang'an is really big. Save the ban. The gate is tall and majestic, and I have been there countless times. To fill the vacancy of guards recently, I can only use a tube of bamboo cloth. You see, I will definitely become an official in two or three years."
