The main responsibilities are:

(1) Coordinating Party building in the education system.

(two) to guide the education system to publicize ideological and cultural work.

(three) to guide the construction of school safety risk prevention and control system.

(four) to implement the education policy of the party and the state.

(five) responsible for the overall planning and coordinated management of all kinds of education.

(six) put forward the plan for the overall use of education funds in each district.

(seven) to guide the school moral education, sports health and art education, labor education and national defense education.

(eight) comprehensive management of basic education, vocational education, lifelong education and social forces in the region.

(nine) to guide the work of teachers in the whole region, organize and guide the implementation of the teacher qualification system, organize and guide the evaluation and appointment of professional and technical positions in the education system, and guide and coordinate the construction of talent teams in the education system and the reform of the personnel distribution system.

(ten) responsible for the higher education and secondary education entrance examination, responsible for the management of higher education self-study examination and other related education examinations.

(eleven) responsible for foreign exchange and cooperation in education.

(twelve) overall management, guidance and coordination of the region's language work.

(thirteen) to guide the United front and mass organizations in the education system.

(fourteen) to guide the education supervision work in the whole region, to be responsible for organizing and guiding the supervision, inspection, evaluation and acceptance of all kinds of education, and to organize and guide the monitoring of the development level and quality of basic education.

(fifteen) to complete other tasks assigned by the district party committee and district government.
