Gannan Normal University, referred to as "Jiangxi Normal University", is located in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, a national historical and cultural city. It is a provincial undergraduate normal college with the right to award master's and bachelor's degrees, and a first-class discipline construction university in Jiangxi Province. The undergraduate teaching evaluation expert group of the Ministry of Education evaluated the school as a "regional excellent normal university with distinctive characteristics and good prospects".

The school has three campuses: Golden Campus, Zhanggong Campus and Baita Campus (University Science Park), covering an area of more than 2,200 mu, with a school building area of more than 800,000 square meters, teaching and research instruments and equipment with a total value of more than 259 million yuan, and the library has more than 2.2 million books. Scientific research achievements of Gannan Normal University:

In the past five years, the school has undertaken more than 1 100 national and provincial scientific research projects such as the national key R&D plan, the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation, and won more than 40 provincial scientific research awards.
