My home is in Ma Huiling Town. Every year from the fourth day to the sixth day of the second lunar month, Mahuiling Town is a fair day, which is also a temple fair. We locals also call it barter.

Ma Huiling Temple Fair began in the late Qing Dynasty and has a history of 100 years. According to legend, there is a secluded temple in Jinglin Street, Matou Village, Ma Huiling Town, commonly known as the Great Temple. Every year on the fourth day of the second lunar month, pilgrims come to the temple to pray for good weather and good harvests. At first, vendors took the opportunity to set up stalls to supply food and refreshments, and later developed into trading agricultural and sideline products, small farm tools and daily necessities. After a hundred years of historical changes and evolution, the temple fair in Mahuiling Town moved from Jinglin Street in Matou Village to Ma Huiling Market Town, lasting from February 1st to February 3rd. From the traditional trading of agricultural and sideline products in neighboring counties and towns, it has developed into a festival-style trading of agricultural and sideline products, wooden tools, seedlings and medicinal materials, craft daily necessities, clothing department stores, automotive appliances and other products, as well as services such as food, recreation and labor intermediary in neighboring cities and counties of Anhui, Hubei and Jiangxi provinces.

The temple fair on the fourth day of February is as important and lively as the Spring Festival in our town. On this day, every household prepared a sumptuous meal early to entertain the children who came home and relatives and friends who were rushing to the temple fair in neighboring villages and counties.

Temple fair is a kind and happy day for me. Every Spring Festival, my brothers and sisters get together and leave home after annual leave. My mother always tells me: Come back on the fourth day of February when you are free.

I remember when I was a child, if there was something missing at home, my mother would plan one by one until the exchange of materials, because some things could only be bought when they were exchanged, and they were also cheaper.

When I got home, as expected, my parents, who were full of guests and always enthusiastic about people, were busy in the kitchen. My parents in their eighties have been busy entertaining guests since a few days ago, but they are busy and tired every year.

I have no time to go home to catch the temple fair this year. My son happened to be practicing, and the unit arranged for them to send science and technology to the countryside. Early in the morning, they set out in the drizzle.

During lunch break, my son went to visit his grandparents at home. My son told me that as soon as I entered the house, my grandmother with heavy makeup was going out. She told her son in a hurry and happily that she was going to the show. The governor will come in the morning and the mayor will come in the afternoon. In recent years, the town party committee and government have done a lot of meticulous work for the temple fair, striving to create a "cultural temple fair, a peaceful temple fair and a warm temple fair". This year, gongs and drums teams were arranged at three entrances, and the players were dressed in costumes to beat gongs and drums to welcome tourists from all over the world.

The town party committee and government took the lead in setting up a big stage for the temple fair, with wonderful programs such as folk songs, Huangmei Opera, tea-picking opera, Wen Quxi, traditional Chinese opera and martial arts opera, and more than 100 programs were performed in three days. Show two movies every night for three days in a row, so that you can feel the different beauty of open-air movies.

The district agricultural bureau organized sending science and technology to the countryside to answer questions for the people. They also brought excellent seeds of vegetables and fruits, orange saplings in Yijiahe.
