Five years' practice in mainland China is eligible to take the Hong Kong lawyer's license?

There are three paths to be recognized as a practicing lawyer

:

(1) Follow the local path: you must have a qualified law degree, generally a law degree awarded by Xianggang University, City University or Xianggang Chinese University, and have completed a one-year legal certificate course and been a lawyer for two years.

(2) Follow the overseas route: A lawyer who is not qualified within the jurisdiction of ordinary law and non-ordinary law may apply to be recognized as a practicing lawyer, but the lawyer must meet the local residence qualifications, have relevant education qualifications and be qualified for practicing. Have a good reputation in the legal profession, successfully complete or get all or part of the qualifications of overseas lawyers.

(3) Path of changing careers as a litigator: Litigants who have been practicing in Xianggang for more than five years can apply to become litigators. They don't have to complete two years' practical training, but they need to successfully pass the bookkeeping and professional operation examination papers in the qualification examination for overseas lawyers.
