Brain cyst

Chief physician Wu Fenpei is consulting the patient.

Case: Li, who works in the urban area, is in his thirties and often has dizziness and headache. He went to Wuyi Chinese Medicine Hospital for treatment. At the doctor's suggestion, he did a brain CT examination and found a 4x3cm cyst on the left lateral side of his brain, which was later diagnosed as a diaphragm cyst. The doctor proposed the traditional craniotomy treatment and the latest CT-guided minimally invasive puncture treatment for Li, for him to choose independently. After weighing, Li is willing to use CT positioning puncture minimally invasive technology for treatment. Wu Fenpei, chief physician of the Department of Neurosurgery, Wuyi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, performed an operation on him, which was very successful. Three months after operation, the results showed that the patient was in good condition, everything was normal and no complications occurred.

Hyaline diaphragm cyst:

Check in time after symptoms appear.

It is understood that diaphragm cyst is a special type of brain cyst, which belongs to congenital malformation of the brain. The septum pellucidum is located in the medial wall of the lateral ventricle, which is thin-film and divided into two layers. There is a 1 potential cavity between the two layers, and there is a small amount of effusion in the cavity. If there is too much effusion, the septum pellucidum can be widened. If it expands abnormally to form a cyst, it is called a septum pellucidum cyst or the fifth ventricle. The septum pellucidum developed between 12 and 19 weeks. Premature babies have septum pellucidum, which gradually disappears later. Normal pregnancy begins to close before birth. Generally, the septum pellucidum is rarely seen about 2 months after birth. After 6 months, the incidence rate was about 10%, which was close to that of adults.

With the increase of age, patients with hyaline diaphragmatic cyst generally begin to have symptoms in their twenties and thirties, which are generally manifested as dizziness, headache and vomiting. Some scholars have pointed out that the incidence of epilepsy, psychosis and neurosis may be higher in some large septum pellucidum cysts, but if the cerebrospinal fluid channel is not blocked and the basal ganglia or internal capsule is compressed, it may not cause clinical symptoms.

Wu Fenpei, chief physician of neurosurgery department of Wuyi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that there are relatively few cases of hyaline diaphragmatic cyst in clinic, and there are not many cases found in Jiangmen at present, because there are generally no symptoms when the cyst is less than 2cm, but when the cyst is more than 2cm and has clinical symptoms, surgery must be performed, so patients with hyaline diaphragmatic cyst should go to the hospital in time after symptoms appear, and it is best to use CT scanning to make a quick and clear diagnosis.

Minimally invasive treatment:

Jiangmen is in the leading position

Since the beginning of 2 1 century, medical technology has developed towards minimally invasive and non-invasive surgery in many fields. Simply put, it is to avoid and do less surgery, so that patients can suffer less and minimize the harm to their bodies, because this method has the advantages of less trauma, fewer complications, short operation time and thorough tumor resection.

In fact, the neurosurgical diagnosis and treatment of Wuyi Chinese Medicine Hospital began as early as the 1980s. Since July 1 2003, neurosurgery in our hospital has been officially independent from neurology, which has considerable influence and popularity in rescuing severe craniocerebral trauma. Neurosurgery has many technical experts such as chief physician and deputy chief physician, as well as hardware equipment such as CT scanning, magnetic resonance imaging and DSA (digital angiography). Both software and hardware have reached a considerable level, and there are many successful experiences in surgery. Approved by the provincial Chinese Medical Association, it was assessed as the first hospital to carry out brain tumor surgery and the second hospital in Guangdong Province.

Since 2004, the neurosurgery department of Wuyi Chinese Medicine Hospital began to use minimally invasive technology to treat brain cysts. The application of this technology is in a leading position in Jiangmen City and even in the Pearl River Delta. The neurosurgery department of Wuyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has successfully performed many such operations so far. More than 0 cases of diaphragm cyst and omental cyst 10 have been treated by chief physician Wu Fenpei with minimally invasive technique. The operation effect is very good and the complications are few. So far, no recurrence has been found. In addition, the neurosurgery department of Wuyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital also has considerable experience and achievements in the treatment of cerebral hemorrhage with minimally invasive technology.

Wu Fenpei, director of neurosurgery and chief physician of Jiangmen Wuyi Chinese Medicine Hospital. He studied under Professor Jennifer, the former president of the Provincial Society of Neurosurgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and has 30 years of experience in neurosurgery diagnosis and treatment. He is good at treating neurosurgical diseases, including brain trauma and its sequelae, cerebral hemorrhage, tumors in the brain and spinal canal, dizziness, headache and epilepsy.
