Yangzhou Institute of Education is a state-owned public institution of higher learning approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, which mainly trains new basic education teachers and advanced vocational and technical applied talents to meet the needs of economic and social development. In February 2007, Yangzhou Municipal Government decided to merge Yangzhou Education College and Yangzhou Institute of Technology to form Yangzhou Institute of Technology.
