Why is the operating salary of freight forwarders so low (original)

Ten years ago, logistics was a new term. When it comes to logistics management, many people will immediately associate it with property management. In recent years, logistics seems to have become a hot word and one of the most promising industries. Let me talk about my own humble opinion. Personally, domestic logistics cannot be called general logistics. In most cases, people equate this word with freight forwarding and think that entering the freight forwarding industry means entering the logistics field. So many people complain: Why do people say that there is a shortage of logistics talents, but the wages of freight forwarders are so low? In fact, the logistics industry lacks relatively high-end talents, such as supply chain management professionals, or designers and optimizers of logistics chains. And such a position, without excellent knowledge of mathematics, economy and even machinery industry, is incompetent. At present, as far as Europe is concerned, only graduates majoring in economic mathematics, economic engineering or mechanical logistics have the opportunity to get the position of logistics engineer and get the corresponding high salary. Freight forwarding industry is only a link in the whole logistics chain, which is responsible for transporting raw materials to manufacturers, semi-finished products to the next processing place, or finished products to dealers. Forward operation, like a screw in the link, is an indispensable part, but it has almost no technical content. Therefore, most freight forwarders in Europe are high school graduates or even high school diplomas, and they can operate independently after two or three years of training. It is conceivable that the salary will not be too high. The situation in China is quite special, and the English level of senior high school students is not enough to meet the needs of daily operation. At the same time, due to the surplus of talents and the rising recruitment threshold, some companies' operating departments are all undergraduates or even MBAs. Because of overqualified, low wages, freight forwarders have a high frequency of job-hopping. The high mobility led the boss to push down his salary desperately. If you don't do it yourself, others will. Sales will take customers away, and operations will not take anything away. The situation around us is basically like this: from small freight forwarders to large freight forwarders, from international freight forwarders to shipping companies, or to small freight forwarders as operation managers. It's just that some lucky people have entered the big international companies from the beginning, and the starting point of salary is superior, but it's basically the same. Unless promoted, there is not much room for growth. If you don't want to be an operator all your life, you should either take the initiative to contact customers, transform sales, try to go it alone as soon as possible, and earn money into your own hands. Either take the management route and try to mix department managers or even general managers. Or, it is also a good choice to accumulate several years of experience and go to the storage and transportation department in the production or commercial field. My goal is to double my salary in 5-8 years. I hope everyone can find a satisfactory position as soon as possible and earn a satisfactory salary.
