This city is warm because of you.

Mengzi, a small city, was the first city I went to. At that time, I graduated from high school, carrying a big bag and going out for a summer job. Accustomed to the hillside of the Red River, I came to such a flat place for the first time. I was both excited and surprised. The wide roads and dense green belts in the middle made me fall in love with this city at once.

I don't like bustling, colorful, high-rise buildings, and cities that are linked by one ring. The big city gives me a suffocating strangeness. I am very small, but in a big city, I feel so small that I can't tell what I am and who I really am.

I want to find a job in Mengzi after graduation, hoping to settle here in the future, but I didn't expect the salary to be too low to support myself. I compromised and went home to prepare for the exam. After several years of tossing, I finally got close to Mengzi, but the house price was beyond my tolerance, so I chose a small town ten minutes' drive from Mengzi.

I go back to Mengzi every weekend. Although I rent a house, my life is simple and satisfying, without any external interference, especially no one interferes in my life in the name of being good to me.

Recently, Lao Hei returned to Honghe on holiday, but he was not in Mengzi. I also went back to Honghe on the weekend, because I went back to Mengzi for two days and ordered takeout for two days. I didn't change my pajamas. I just ate and slept all day and spent two weekends in a daze.

In the end, I didn't realize my desire to settle in Mengzi, but at least I was close to Mengzi, so I always felt very satisfied. I thought the happiness of going to Mengzi every weekend was because I love this city. I didn't understand until now that I really fell in love with a city because of one person and because that person is not in this city. To me, this city is just a strange and cold city with no temperature.

No matter how prosperous and beautiful the city is, it will still feel lonely and sad as long as there are no friends and lovers in the city. There are some things outside the body that give you happiness, which nothing can replace.
