How long is the morning and evening rush hour of Beijing subway? Reward!

As a North drift, if you haven't squeezed through the subway, you may not be a qualified North drift. If you take the subway in Beijing, it is naive to get into the carriage when you are ready to calculate the time.
Why is the Beijing subway blocked more than Shanghai?
If you have taken the subway in Beijing and Shanghai, you must have a perceptual judgment on the subway congestion in these two cities, that is, there are more subway congestion in Beijing than in Shanghai.
The data also confirms this. According to statistics, in 20 13 years, Beijing subway carried 32 1 100 million passengers, and Shanghai subway carried 2.5 billion passengers. If we consider the operating mileage of two subways-465 kilometers in Beijing and 538 kilometers in Shanghai. In this way, the number of people on each subway line must be more congested in Beijing than in Shanghai.
Of course, another factor that must be considered is that different subway formations have also aggravated congestion. Although both Beijing and Shanghai are dominated by six carriages, Shanghai uses eight carriages on two subway lines-1Line and Line 2, both of which pass through the city center, and the earliest appearance of eight carriages in Beijing is on the recently opened Line 6. According to reports, under normal circumstances, each train of Shanghai Metro 1 Line carries nearly 1000 passengers more than that of Beijing Metro.
Because the subway lines in Beijing are shorter than those in Shanghai and there are fewer carriages, the number of passengers transported in Beijing is 1.284. It is not surprising that Beijing is more congested than Shanghai when the departure time of trains is almost the same. But a strange phenomenon is, why is the resident population of Shanghai more than that of Beijing, while the number of people transported by Beijing subway is more than that of Shanghai?
According to the official statistics of the two cities, by the end of 2003, the permanent population of Beijing was 21148,000. The total resident population of Shanghai in the same period was 24 1.5 1.5 million. So we have to ask another question, why is Shanghai more populous than Beijing, but Beijing's subway carries more passengers than Shanghai, or is it more crowded than Shanghai?
A common reason is that the ticket price in Beijing is low, which attracts more tourists. Unlike Shanghai subway, which is priced by mileage, Beijing subway will always be 2 yuan, and lower subway fares may attract more passengers. This explanation sounds reasonable. Yes, if you go from A to B, the bus may be mainly in 2 yuan. If you take the subway in Shanghai, you may have to go to 5 yuan. In this case, there will be a price. Sensitive people choose public transportation, so the subway is a little more free. But not in Beijing, because the subway only costs 2 yuan, which has changed many people who used to take the bus to take the subway.
However, if this explanation is to be established, there must be a prerequisite, that is, the bus price in Beijing is higher than that in the subway, so that low-income people who are sensitive enough to the price can transfer to the subway. But in fact, the subway in Beijing is not only cheap, but also the bus price is not expensive: if most short-distance buses in Beijing pay by one card, the fare is 0.40 yuan each time, and even those trains with segmented pricing are cheaper than those in 2 yuan: 0.40 yuan for the first12km, and 0.20 yuan for each additional 5km in the future. Suppose the commuting mileage is 30 kilometers, take the subway to 2 yuan, and take the bus to spend the most 1.2 yuan. If a single trip can save 0.8 yuan, then a day can be between 1.6 yuan, and it may be more selective for the low-income class to take public transportation.
The data of public transport mode in Beijing also shows that more people choose public transport instead of subway in Beijing. In 20 13, the proportion of Beijing rail transit to public transport was 44.80%, and that of Shanghai was 49.3%. Why does Beijing, with a small population, carry fewer passengers by rail than Shanghai, but more people by subway than Beijing?
The only possibility is that there are a large number of people in Shanghai who don't need to go to work by bus-considering that the number of motor vehicles in Shanghai is lower than that in Beijing, we might as well make a bold guess that there are more people in Shanghai who don't rely on private cars and buses to go to work than in Beijing.
Interestingly, the population distribution in Beijing may prove my guess. In terms of the area of the two cities, Beijing is1641square kilometer, Shanghai is 62 19 square kilometer, and Beijing is about 2.63 times that of Shanghai, which means that the population density of Shanghai is about 3 times that of Beijing. More importantly, the population density of eight central urban areas in Shanghai is above 1 10,000, only two districts are below 20,000, and Huangpu District, Jing 'an District and Hongkou District are above 30,000. In Beijing, only Dongcheng and Xicheng districts have a population density of more than 1 10,000.
Greater population density in urban areas means that more urban population is concentrated in urban areas. In China, the vast majority of employment tends to be concentrated in the city center, which means that these people can choose more convenient modes of transportation without spending more time on commuting. If the same population is to be evacuated to a wider area, but the workplace is concentrated in a few areas, this means that most people have to spend more time commuting. There are more people in the center of Shanghai, which means that they can save commuting time, reduce road traffic congestion and reduce passenger flow on the track.
The data in the 20 12 Survey Report of China Workplace Balance Index jointly released by Peking University Social Research Center and Zhaopin also prove that the commuting time of Beijing residents is the longest in China, with an average of 1.32 hours, which is longer than that of Shanghai 15 minutes. In the "20 10 Report on New Urbanization in China" issued by Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing ranks first among the 50 cities in China with a commuting time of 52 minutes.
The apparent reason for Beijing residents' long commuting time is traffic congestion, but the fundamental reason is the problem of "separation of work and residence" caused by improper urban planning: a considerable number of government agencies and commercial places are concentrated in the city center, which makes most of the citizens' workplaces in the city center. However, the area of the bungalow in the city center has expanded, and it has been vacant for a long time for various reasons, which has failed to transform and develop its corresponding living function, forcing the employed population to migrate to the suburban new city.
The more crowded downtown makes our road traffic smoother, which may be ignored by most people, but it is a living fact that affects our city life. In other words, the urban disease of road congestion can actually be changed through better urban planning. The difference between Beijing and Shanghai is worth remembering in other cities.
