Gong Daoyong is from Zigong, Sichuan. Gong Fan was born in 1962, and is the fourth generation descendant. 1999 The Sichuan Provincial Government awarded the title of "Master of Arts and Crafts in Sichuan Province". In 2006, he was awarded the title of "Master of Arts and Crafts in China".

Mr Gong Daoyong was born in a "Gong Fan" family. I have been studying with my father since I was a teenager. Under his father's careful teaching and strict requirements, his skills won his father's true biography. In his bamboo weaving career of more than 30 years, he has the courage to explore and innovate, which has reduced the thickness of bamboo filaments from 0.025mm to 0.0 1-0.0 15mm, which is thinner than hair, and reduced the width of bamboo filaments by 30%. Breaking the traditional practice of weaving only round fans, it has developed into round fans, square screens and miniature fans, which has made a great leap in the texture of the works.

Gong Daoyong's work "Plum Blossom Fairy" won the silver prize (the highest honor in bamboo weaving category) in the first China Arts and Crafts Fair of Hangzhou West Lake Expo in 2000. 200 1 "Lady Camellia" Fang Ping won the bronze prize in the second boutique meeting of the Association. Now their studio "Gong Fan" in Sichuan Zigong Huapai Garment Factory has inherited the fifth generation of Gong. Mr. Gong, the second generation, 1953 attended the first national artists' congress, 1955 was elected as a member of Sichuan CPPCC and China Artists' Association, and was received by Marshal Zhu De at the man called hero meeting in 1959. His works are listed as national treasures. The third generation Gong Changrong and Gong Yuwen were awarded the titles of Sichuan Arts and Crafts Master and China Arts and Crafts Master respectively. The fourth generation Gong Daoyong was awarded the title of Master of Arts and Crafts of Sichuan Province and the 5th Master of Arts and Crafts of China in 1999 and 2006 respectively. It is rare for his father (Gong Yuwen) and his son to be awarded the title of Master of Arts and Crafts in China. In June 2007, Gong Daotong's Purple Painting was collected by the National Museum.

The skill of "Gong Fan" is the glory of the Gong family, the pride of the country and the stunt of the splendid culture of the Chinese nation. Now there are latecomers. The fifth generation teenager Gong Fan, Gong Jufen's son Hou Xin (stage name: Gong Ping), Gong Qian's daughter and Gong Daoyong's daughter Gong Dou began to inherit and carry forward Gong Fan's skills. Hou Xin (Gong Ping) studied under his mother, and his representative works include Yue Bai, The Story of Diexin, Singing Birds, Panda Picture, etc. In August 2005, Gong Fan, who wrote Flying, won the silver prize in the Sichuan Tourism Commodity Design Competition. In September, he won the gold medal in the 7th China Sanpin Expo. In 2008, Gong Yaoxuan's "Zhao Jun" bamboo silk fan won the bronze prize in the exhibition of works of China Arts and Crafts Masters. In 2008, Gong Qian won the second prize in the Asia-Pacific Youth Handmade Weaving Skills Competition at the 2008 World Handicraft Congress and 16 world crafts council Congress.

In order to better inherit this unique folk art, the municipal government has always attached great importance to supporting Gong Fan. In June 2002, the municipal government allocated special funds to set up Gong Fan Bamboo Art Co., Ltd., with Gong Qian as the manager, and recruited 10 students to teach skills.

Editing Gong Fan needs long-term patience and concentrated skill learning, which is totally different from the mentality of modern youth. Therefore, it took a lot of effort to recruit people. After layers of screening, eight people were finally selected.
