The Historical Evolution of Yuyangguan Town

In the Yuan Dynasty, in order to prevent the Tusi from crossing the border and ensure the peace of the people in the border areas of Han and Jiang, a pass was set up here.

from April 1927 to September 1928 and from December 1929 to December 1932 during the Republic of China, Wufeng County was moved to Yuyangguan Town twice. From October 1949 to April 195 in the early days of the founding of New China, the county government was once stationed here because of the serious banditry in the west of Wufeng Town.

in p>1949, Wufeng county belonged to Yichang area, and at that time, Yuyang Pass was the third area of Wufeng.

in p>1956, it became fourth area of Wufeng county;

Yuyang commune was established in p>1958;

in p>1961, it was set as Yuyang Pass;

On July 13th, 1984, with the approval of the State Council, Wufeng County was abolished and Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County was established, and Yuyangguan Town was established in 1985.

On April 14th, 211, with the approval of the State Council, Yuyangguan Town became the new county seat of Wufeng County.
