Does China recognize Korean?

Korean Proficiency Test (KPT) is a Korean proficiency assessment test that foreign students must take before entering Korean universities. Some Korean companies will also use this achievement as a recruitment standard when recruiting foreign employees. It has been implemented in 44 test sites in 16 countries in Japan, China, Russian Federation, USA, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Australia and South Korea. In China, there is an exam on the second or third Sunday in September every year. The exam is divided into two parts, of which listening and reading account for 90 points, and writing vocabulary and grammar account for 90 points; The examination is divided into three levels, the first and second levels are primary, the third and fourth levels are intermediate, and the fifth and sixth levels are advanced; The annual examination is hosted by the Korean Embassy and Consulate. International students who want to study in Korean universities must take this exam (except those who register for graduate GSIS). Students can choose to study Korean at home or in Korea, and students who have passed KPT Grade 5 in China can be exempted from the test. Generally speaking, it takes 9 months to one year to study in a language school run by a Korean university before entering a formal course, while it takes a long time to study in China, usually 2-3 years before reaching Grade 5, so most students who apply to study in Korea choose to study Korean in Korea.
