In the next five years to 10, Jining Port and Shipping Bureau will strive to realize "investing10 billion yuan to build a 100 million-ton port and shipping capacity" and build Jining into a inland river shipping city in central Shandong.

Jining Port is one of the 28 major inland river ports in China, and its freight volume accounts for more than 70% of the total inland river shipping in the province. In order to speed up the development of the shipping industry in our city, the Municipal Bureau of Port and Shipping has compiled the overall plan of Jining Port, which has been submitted to the Ministry of Communications for approval.

According to the planning content, the wharves originally scattered on the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal and its tributaries will be integrated, and some of them will no longer be standardized. At the same time, it is planned to build eight major port areas, namely, the main city port area in the central district and rencheng district, Weishan port area, Zoucheng port area, Yutai port area, Jinxiang port area, Jiaxiang port area, Wenshang port area and Liangshan port area; There are 26 operation areas with a total throughput of1.1.700 million tons/year.

In the next 5- 10 years, Jining will be built into a central city of inland river shipping in Shandong.

In view of the difficulty of travel that people in the lake area are concerned about, the Municipal Port and Shipping Bureau will speed up the implementation of navigation (road) projects in villages in the lake area. At present, the investment of 34 million yuan has been completed, 55 docks of various types have been built, accounting for 45.5% of the planned amount, and 49 rivers with 87.8 kilometers have been dredged, accounting for 50% of the planned amount. After the project is completed, the waterways of the villages in the lake can be interconnected, so that 158000 fishermen can travel smoothly at any water level in Nansi Lake.
