Break the law. In China, cigarettes and alcohol are exclusive products, and they need special business licenses to be sold. Not only are cigarettes and ordinary goods transported through China and Hongkong without going through the relevant entry formalities, but they also constitute the crime of smuggling, which is illegal. Article 153 of the Criminal Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that smuggling taxable goods and articles with the amount of more than 50,000 yuan constitutes the crime of smuggling ordinary goods and should be given criminal punishment.
