But one day, the water in this well suddenly became turbid, bubbly and pungent. Zhang Xiaoquan's eldest son grabbed his head and carried a bucket of water. When he saw it, it was dark and muddy, and it smelled fishy. He dumped it and took another bucket, just like this. People are in a panic. They didn't know what had happened, so they prayed by the well.

A centenarian who lives here spoke at this time. He stroked his beard and said, "When I was a child, I heard from the older generation that this well leads to Qiantang River. There are two black snakes in the river. They come down once every thousand years and always like to drill into this well and give birth to little black snakes. Now that the well water has gone bad, maybe they are coming. " what can I do? When people heard this, they all became very worried.

Zhang Xiaoquan, who was waiting for his son to carry water home at home, waited for an hour without waiting for his son to come home. Hearing this, he volunteered to go down to the bottom of the well. Zhang Xiaoquan had people buy old wine and realgar, pour realgar into the old wine, conveniently take an altar, drink it in one breath, tie a rope, take a sledgehammer, and jump into the big well without thinking.

Because of drinking realgar wine, Zhang Xiaoquan is not afraid of black snakes at all. He looked around and finally found these two shiny black snakes in a dark corner, as thick as arms, tightly coiled there. Zhang Xiaoquan nimble, before the two black snakes separated, he swung a sledgehammer and knocked the snake's seven inches. "Bang, bang, bang" struck three times in a row, and both hammers hit the key of the black snake, breaking the necks of both snakes and sticking them together.

Zhang Xiaoquan killed the black snake, so he climbed out of the well with a sledgehammer in one hand and a snake tail in the other. He threw two black snakes to the ground and only heard a clear loud noise, which startled people. It turns out that these two black snakes have been cultivated for thousands of years and have already been tempered by steel. If they were not put together, Zhang Xiaoquan might not be able to sort them out at once. After removing the black snake, the water in the big well returned to its original state.
