The French Department has 15 teachers, including 5 professors (including 2 doctoral supervisors), 3 associate professors, 5 lecturers, 2 teaching assistants and 2 French experts. Eight people received doctoral degrees and six people received master's degrees; There are 1 people pursuing doctoral degrees. In addition, there are four French professors and two French experts in our school who are employed to teach undergraduate and graduate students of the French Department. In the past 40 years, many famous professors and scholars have taught in the French Department. Liang, Li Weici, Wu Xu and other professors of the older generation passed away successively, enjoying a high reputation in academic circles at home and abroad. Old professors (doctoral supervisor, former president of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies), Cheng, Gong, etc. are still active in academic circles and have great influence among domestic counterparts. Among the young and middle-aged professors, Professor Xu Zhenhua (Ph.D.) is the vice president of the French Literature Research Association in China, a member of the Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, and the deputy head of the French Group of the Steering Committee. He is currently the party secretary and president of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Professor Zheng Lihua (doctoral supervisor), executive director of the National French Teaching Research Association and the China Intercultural Communication Research Association, is currently the president of the Spanish Institute.

At present, there are more than 250 doctors, masters and undergraduates in the French Department, and there are two classes in each grade of the undergraduate course.
