Huang-Huang high-speed railway is an important part of Beijing-Hong Kong-Taiwan passage, one of the main passages of eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railways, and also an integral part of Wuhan-Hangzhou passenger passage.

Huanghuang high-speed railway is located in Wuhan city circle, a city group in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It vertically connects the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Central Plains urban agglomeration, the Poyang Lake urban agglomeration, the Pearl River Delta region, the west bank of the Taiwan Strait and other countries or regional urban agglomerations from north to south, and connects the key nodes of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from east to west.
