3. If the recruitment information has been released for more than 3 or 4 months, please consider it carefully. Because there are only two situations for positions that cannot be filled in 3 to 4 months: first, the requirements are very high; second, there is no rush to recruit, just hanging around, hiring if you can, and forgetting if you can't. For example, in my previous company, they posted recruitment information all year round, just for fun, and only one interviewer came in every three or four months. Didn't even think about it. 4. If a company tells you that the salary range for this position is between 5,000 and 10,000, then when you are hired, it will basically be 5,000. Second, during the interview, you must pay attention to what you say: first, don’t answer questions you don’t ask. Some questions you can answer with a slight twist.

For example: Do you have a boyfriend? What do you think about falling out of love? If you don't really want to answer this question, you can just say this, I don't do things with my emotions when I work. In fact, this is not a good idea. Here I would like to criticize Lunyi Shanghai Office. Anyway, I think their office is the most low-key among these offices. They will hardly take the initiative to say anything to you. It is also particularly difficult to communicate with Weibo. try to find. But I finally chose to apply in Shanghai. Because in fact, I don’t need any particularly detailed guidance. The Shanghai Office has a very good attitude and answers all questions. You can also make an appointment for guidance on your portfolio, but you need to take the initiative on your own. They also don’t have an intermediary to hook them up. I'm mainly annoyed by intermediaries.

Then after I took the IELTS test, I only got a 6. I didn’t submit the IELTS when I was preparing the materials, saying that I hadn’t taken the test yet. Because the person in charge of the office said that if you get a 5.5 or something, the professor may not look at your portfolio and think you are not good at English.

I have to talk about preparing a portfolio. I think the professor may be particularly concerned about the entire line of work you did in college. To put it bluntly, your own idea is very clear, and it must be passed down. So it’s a one-line narrative. And of course covering the diversity of works. When I applied for fineart, I prepared my usual video and installation works. Including initial sketches, ideas, completion, and final product. Later, I went to the Shanghai Office again, and they asked me to prepare some basic paintings. I think this makes sense.

Although I no longer draw, fineart’s ma still cares about these skills. So I sorted out some of the paintings from the basic department of my freshman year and put them in. Of course, I still have a choice. I chose some paintings with mixed media, not just oil paintings, but also ink and other materials. I think foreigners might like it. After all, our school’s Chinese painting is still the best in the world. .

So in the end, my portfolio included several video installations (this is my main focus), one installation, 10 paintings, and a comprehensive experimental drama (not a traditional drama, but also focused on performance art and device). Finally, I sat down and made 80 pages of ppt in bits and pieces.

Then when writing a study plan, I think it should also be combined with your previous works and research directions. In the reference books, I didn’t care whether I had read them or not. I stuffed more than 50 reference books in there, covering a series of things such as brief history of art, philosophy, movies, religion, etc. The writing should be in-depth ~ yes ~

And the CV, I think the more gorgeous it is, the better, so I included all the 40 large and small exhibitions I participated in before, and it turns out that it is very Useful

The last step is the interview. Wendy gave it to me. I made an appointment for 11 o'clock, but I didn't get in until 12 o'clock at the end. The interview time for the previous people was so long, more than half an hour for each person. I think this is the end. What if I run out of words for a while? As it turns out, it worked out well in the end. Regarding the portfolio, I have to mention that because I also applied to RCA and Goldsmiths at the same time, both online, I basically put a lot of text in the ppt for explanation. At first, the Shanghai Office asked me not to put so many words in the ppt, but based on my small farmer mentality (these were all translated by Taobao, although 100 words only cost 8 yuan, it is still money), so I did not remove them. so. . The result was that after 8 minutes of reading my portfolio (I doubt she had finished it), Wendy asked me to come in. When I went in, I found that she had written a lot of words on a piece of paper. . I said hello to him and sat down. As soon as she looked up she started praising me. What surprised me the most was! He didn’t ask me to say a lot about the work! I thought it was okay to put so many words in the ppt. The main thing is typesetting, the typesetting should be clean!! There is no need to be so fancy.

Then I got the offer. It's that simple!

The last thing I want to say is that it's true. Before you get in, the professor has already decided whether to hire you after reading your portfolio. So! Be sure to prepare carefully! Even if your works are scattered, believe me, as long as you make them yourself, there will definitely be a thread of your own! Find it out!!
