Southwest Jiaotong University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, and its main campus is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The first batch of "double first-class", "21project", "special 985 project" and "201/collaborative innovation plan" are equipped.

Southwest Jiaotong University was founded in 1896, then named as Shanhaiguan Beiyang Railway Institute.
