Why is it not recommended to study liberal arts for undergraduate students?

1. It is difficult to choose a major

It is a big problem for liberal arts to choose a major after the college entrance examination, and the choice of majors is much narrower than that of science students. According to the statistics of "Netease Reading", liberal arts can only report 25% of the majors in universities, while science can apply for 75% of the majors in universities.

2. It is difficult to find a job

After graduation, liberal arts don't give you a clear career future like engineering, so many graduates will feel confused when they are employed.

3. Low income

The income of liberal arts majors is low after graduation. According to Michaels' Employment Report for College Students in China in 22, among the 1 majors with the lowest salary, 8 liberal arts majors are impressively listed. Among the 1 majors with the highest salary, 8 are science majors.

2 Disadvantages of choosing liberal arts

The competition of liberal arts in universities is greater than that of science. I remember that when I chose liberal arts and sciences, Xiao Bian chose liberal arts after being told by the teacher that "liberal arts can enter the top five only with a little effort", just to make an effort to enter the top five. At that time, students' ideal universities were all aimed at Tsinghua Peking University, and the top five were easy to enter, so there was a glimmer of hope for them to enter famous schools. Until now, the teacher is still saying this to the students. I didn't know it until I was admitted to the college entrance examination. For example, when Tsinghua University enrolled students in a certain area in a certain year, it recruited 149 students, among whom 131 were science students, which really made me look puzzled.

Whether liberal arts are studious or not depends on talent. Many people think that science needs talent more, but in fact, liberal arts needs talent more. Why? Think about it, if you were born in a scholarly family, your parents were both teachers, and you were nurtured by a small culture, your liberal arts ability can be easily expressed. Therefore, these people are easier to learn liberal arts than other students, and liberal arts can't be learned by memorizing. On the other hand, although science is more brain-intensive, it is easier to get high marks for routines only by memorizing some skills.

The employment prospect of science is greater than that of liberal arts. At present, domestic enterprises and companies will have more demand for technicians in science and engineering, especially the current scientific and technological talents, VR intelligence and so on. These cannot be accomplished by liberal arts, so the employment prospects of science will be better.
